Before you can get started with Optigroups, make sure to review the prerequisites needed to use Optily.

An OptiGroup is how Optily optimizes your eCommerce campaigns from different channels against a single source of truth. When you start with Optily you will be given 3 OptiGroups with which to build out your strategy.

Once you've linked your Google and/or Facebook Ads accounts during the onboarding process, Optily will automatically pull in your eligible campaigns into a funnel strategy.

While you're not required to implement a marketing funnel strategy for your campaigns, we definitely recommend it.

You can create an OptiGroup Ad Strategy from the left-hand corner of the dashboard:

Step 1: Select your goal and build your campaigns.

When you click on "Create an Ad Strategy" you'll see that Optily has automatically populated your OptiGroups with funnel labels: Top of Funnel, Middle of Funnel, and Bottom of Funnel. Of course, you might be using a different strategy so you're welcome to structure this part however you'd like and rename the groups what makes the most sense in your case.

Step 2: Select 2 to 15 live or scheduled campaigns from your connected ad accounts to optimize. You can simply drag and drop your campaigns and group them together with other campaigns you want to optimize against.

However you structure your OptiGroups, keep in mind each group will need to have the same optimization goal.

You can choose from:

  1. Optimize Visibility

  2. Optimize Cost-Effective Traffic

  3. Optimize Revenue

  4. ROAS (channel-reported)

  5. Cost per Link Click

  6. CPM

Based on your selection, Optily will use weighted metrics to provide the best recommendations for your goal.

Step 3: Editing your OptiGroups

As you add new campaigns and end old ones, you'll want to keep your OptiGroups updated. If you want to make changes to existing OptiGroups, just click the cog icon in the top right corner of the dashboard.
